Careless is a local-first AI wellbeing companion — journaling and reflection powered by an on-device model, with nothing sent to the cloud.

The problem

Mental-health apps ask for your most private thoughts and store them on someone else's servers. Trust and privacy are at odds with usefulness.

What I built

• On-device inference so conversations never leave the phone.
• Local encrypted store for journals and history.
• Gentle, context-aware prompts that build on past entries.

Outcome

• Privacy-by-architecture: no data leaves the device.
• Proves a genuinely useful AI companion can run fully offline.
